From September 1st 2017 there will be a partial lifting of the capital controls in Greece, which have been in place since July 2015. This affects Greek bank holders, as restrictions do not currently apply on use of foreign debit/credit cards in Greece.
Greek account holders will be able to withdraw up to €1800 per month from 1st September, rather than being restricted to 14 day intervals. There will also be an easing of restrictions on money transferred from outside of Greece, and it will be possible to open new accounts.
