ANEK LINES celebrates 50th anniversary – festival Chania 5th August

“We are waiting for you to celebrate together and “travel” together with the sounds and dances of Crete!

We will sing along with Perikles Tzouganakis, Brothers Vlamaki, Dimitris Vakakis, Giorgos Triantafyllou – Manolis Chrysocheraki, Lefteris Koumis and their bands and dance with Folklore Club of Chania, Cultural Association “The Rodon”, Folklore Club Akrotiri “S.Kagialis”, “DosePaso”, Traditional Club “Sfakia”, Chania Folkore Dance Group “Psiloritis”.

The “journey” began on April 10, 1967, with the establishment of the Anonymous Shipping Company of Crete S.A. and the distinctive title ANEK LINES, having as shareholders, everyday people from the island. The idea of the company’s establishment came from the need to improve shipping services linking the mainland of Greece to Crete.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family,children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
