Don’t forget it is Epiphany in the Orthodox world on Friday to celebrate the manifestation of the son of God into Jesus. It is a holiday so many shops will be closed. Traditionally, the priest will throw a wooden cross into the sea and a few hardy guys jump in the retrieve it, I fear it will be a bit chilly this year! In Kissamos, it takes place at the western end of the promenade, near Papadakis taverna, around 11.00 or so.
