The three-act-play “The Entertainer” was written by John Osborne in 1957.
It is about an angry middle-aged man, Archie Rice, a failing music-hall performer.
In this play Osborne shows the big contrast between the glow of the stage lights and the suffering of the artist, which he experienced himself in his personal life.
