Cleaning Kissamos Beaches

On Thursday, the Kissamos Beach Cleaning Team did some cleaning around the beaches in Kissamos town.

After meeting on Mavros Molos beach, we set off to clean the area around the Beach Soccer tournament court. We picked up quite a few bags of rubbish, mostly behind the sand dunes there.

Then we moved on to do some litter picking on the other side, just East of the river mouth in Kissamos. There, between the estuary and the first tavernas on the promenade, there is a not very frequented pebbly beach.

We found a lot of rubbish, plastic and spare metal bits, washed up. By sunset, we had collected about a dozen big bags in total. A good contribution to keeping Kissamos clean.
