HIKING RODOPOU PENSINSULA – MONASTERY AGIOS IOANNIS – Mountaineering Club Chania May 15th

The  EOS Chania (Mountaineering Club of Chania) organizes this  activity to the beautiful Rodopou Peninsula in the Province of Kissamos. The walk leads up to the Onichas summit, 750 m, passing the fertile ‘oasis’ of Agios Ioannis Gonia  that surrounds the  Monastery Agios Ioannis, 500m below the Onichas summit.

I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family,children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute.
