Sandstorms & strong winds in Kissamos!

Kissamos & the area around us has been experiencing some odd weather at the moment…

Yesterday and today we have had strong southerly winds, carrying dust/sand clouds with them. On wednesday the sandcloud enveloped the town reducing visibility. Pictures on sadentrepese.blogspot.gr

There are also reports of damage from strong winds – more details here (apokoronasnews.gr)) – and tragically one death has been reported due to a tree falling on a car, in Chania (chaniapost.eu).
