Dance Days Chania: “Meetings” – Chania 28th July

Ermira Goro creates “Meetings” of very different (gender, nationality, body type, age, ability-wise) people in an attempt to disconnect viewers from the stereotype of a dancer with a young, muscular, trained, “perfect” body and aspiring to create a collective experience that praises diversity and redefines the notion of strength and beauty.
How does one perform  according to the particular nature of their body? How does an “uninstructed” body get transformed by a movement or a rhythm that does not belong to its everyday routine? What feelings can this almost voyeuristic identification create?
