Next hiking activity by the Municipality of Platanias – Kalidonia 19th April

The hiking activities of the Municipality of Platanias continue …
Next Sunday in the community of Kalidonia, Municipal Unit of Kolymvari, on paths marked and maintained, in areas of historical and environmental interest.

WHEN: 19th APril at 15.00
WHERE: The starting point is the former Primary School, in Kalidonia,
from where participants will follow a mildly difficult circular route with a total length of approximately 7 kilometers.
Hikers will pass through the picturesque village of Melisourgio, with its traditional fountain and alleys, and climb to the ridge with its panoramic view of the bay of Chania and Kissamos. There they will stop at the chapel of Prophet Elias and then, descending, they will pass through the village of Kamara with its Venetian fountain, which was restored by the Municipality of Platanias, as well as the chapel of Agia Paraskevi.
Participants are advised to bring light clothing, suitable footwear and water.
The action is being implemented in collaboration with the Caledonia Women’s Association and the Local Councilor, who will guide and host the participants
The hike will be accompanied, as always, by the Local Branch of the Kissamos Red Cross, for the health coverage of the participants.
