Obligatory clearing of land before the no-fires season 

CUTTING AND REMOVAL OF TREE BRANCHES LOCATED WITHIN PROPERTY OWNERS AND OBSTRUCTING THE FREE MOVEMENT OF VEHICLES AND PEDESTRIANS

The Municipality of Kissamos calls on the owners of plots and agricultural land to cut and remove tree branches located within their properties and obstructing the free and safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles, as well as the access of emergency vehicles (such as fire engines).

Furthermore, with regard to the properties of the roadsides in the municipal and rural road network of crops, to remove all cutting products and residues (branches, wood), depositing them in a place within their plots and NOT in public and communal areas.

In case of non-compliance, the Municipality will proceed without further notice with the necessary cutting and removal work, without liability for any damages. The relevant costs may be borne by the owners, in accordance with applicable legislation.

It is emphasized that the obstruction of traffic due to branches extending onto public roads constitutes a criminal offense, as it endangers the safety of transportation, even when it results from negligence.
