International Photo Festival – Chania until 24th July
For the 8th consecutive year, the Chania International Photo Festival (CIP Festival) is held until July 24, 2025 at the Grand Arsenal, a historic building in the Old Port of Chania that is transformed every summer into a dynamic nucleus of photographic art.
WHEN: until 24th July, 10.00 – 13.00 and 18.00 – 23.00
WHERE: Grand Arsenal, Venetian Harbour, Chania

The festival, co-organized by Blank Wall Gallery and the Municipality of Chania, has now established itself as an important institution in the international photographic landscape, with an ever-increasing appeal and participation from every corner of the world.
In its eight years of existence, the CIP Festival has hosted works by artists from more than 100 countries. Among them are Trinidad and Tobago, the islands of Barbados, Kazakhstan, Palestine, Bermuda and many more, a fact that proves the festival’s enduring international appeal. The global participation recorded every year makes the Chania International Photo Festival a point of reference for the international photographic community.
The photographs to be exhibited were selected by an international committee of 17 judges, who come from different countries and schools of photographic thought, thus adding diversity and a high level to the exhibition.
During the festival, the public will have the opportunity to see thousands of images with different thematic, technical and visual narratives and to take part in the now established Photo Marathon of the city of Chania, which will take place for the 8th consecutive year. A unique street competition where participants are invited to capture the life and beauty of the city within a limited time. The best photographs will be awarded by a special committee and will be screened at the closing ceremony of the festival.
The Chania International Photo Festival has as its main objective the promotion of artistic creation, the strengthening of cultural tourism and the promotion of Chania as an international hub of cultural exchanges.
