‘Wines of Crete’ invites you to the Cretan Wine Fair OiNotika 2024, organised by the Cretan winemakers – both for wine lovers and professionals
Winemakers of Crete are preparing for the 17th year to welcome the friends of Cretan wines at the WINE EXHIBITION in Kolymbari, co-organized by the Region of Crete – Regional Unit of Chania.

13:00 – 15:00 | Masterclass: Wines of Crete: A look at the future. Modern Techniques, New Trends & Future Challenges, with winemaker Alexandros Katsikandarakis.
Modern wine making techniques: Use of whole cluster fermentation and carbonic maceration, techniques that highlight fruity aromas and fresh character in wine.
New Trends: Increasing popularity of minimal intervention wines, which authentically express terroir with natural doughs and minimal wine intervention.
Future challenges – Climate change: Adaptation, through planting vineyards at high altitudes, to preserve the acidity and freshness of wines.
How close are Cretan wines in relation to international trends in winemaking, style and new challenges, while maintaining their uniqueness on the world wine map? Answers and reflections in the masterclass that will take place on March 30th and will bring alongside double wines of the world vineyard and more the Cretans corresponding.

16:00 – 17:00| Wine Seminar in English: Get to know the wines in your new home. Introduction to Cretan wines.
This is the second Wines of Crete seminar conducted in English to accommodate the numerous wine lovers from abroad who now call Crete their home. This seminar will cover the history of Cretan wine, discuss the different grape varieties and regions, and conclude with a guided wine tasting with sommelier Anna Maria Kambourakis.
Entrance fee: 10€. For your entrance to the seminar, the purchase of an entrance ticket is necessary.
