Concert: Tribute to Mikis Theodorakis “With Crete in the Heart” – Chania 25th August

On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Mikis Theodorakis, a unique musical performance dedicated to his deep connection with Crete is presented.

As the relevant announcement states, “the performance, which will be presented by the Chania songwriter Leonidas Maridakis (singing, guitar) and Dimitris Giannoulis (accordion), highlights the Cretan soul that defined Theodorakis’ work, as well as the global influence of his music. Special mention will be made of the friendship and collaboration he had with another important personality of Cretan origin, the poet Manolis Anagnostakis. The concert includes pieces from emblematic works such as “Zorbas”, “Archipelago”, “Balantes” etc. interspersed with stories from his life and his phrases about Crete.
