About the documentary:

NO OTHER LAND is a powerful documentary that delves deep into the ongoing conflict and repression in the West Bank. The film follows Palestinian activist Basel and Israeli journalist Yuval, who come closer through their shared conviction to bring the truth to light, even though they come from opposing worlds. The destruction of Masafer Yatta, a small Palestinian village that has been under constant pressure from Israeli authorities for decades, is the focus of the film. The documentary captures the raw reality of life under occupation and highlights the daily struggles of the Palestinian community, facing the threat of forced eviction and the destruction of their homes.

While Basel tirelessly fights for the survival and rights of his people, Yuval tries to convey the complexity of the conflict through his journalism. What begins as a documentary about destruction and resistance evolves into a story about humanity, collaboration, and the possibilities that arise when people work together across ideological and political barriers. No Other Land shows how, amidst destruction and suffering, unexpected alliances can emerge, and urges the audience to view the conflicts in the Middle East from a new perspective.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
