Charity event: “Hyperkopeli” – “Race for Life” – athletic and cultural event – Chania 13th October

Run! Run to support those in need!

For the tenth year the Orizontas Athletic Association organizes this event to support children and adults with cancer. A day filled with many activities, athletic, recreational and cultural ones.

WHEN: 13th October 16.00
WHERE: Agios Apostolos 

Participation fees: € 15,- / €10,- / € 5,- (including t-shirt, participation medal, voucher for beer and kebabs)

PROGRAMME:
-) The day begins with the well-known amateur triathlon races for young and old alike. A race different from the others, a “race for life”,  without  official timing, participation is the important thing,  not victory.

There may also be groups of two  or three  persons in this race, provided that one of them is a person with a disability. The aim is to provide information, awareness and interaction of local athletes with athletes with disabilities.

-) Beach party with music, many surprises and various events around the park!

-) “Open Orizontas”, a 5km run, participants decide which charity organization  their participation fee of € 5,- goes to:
Day Care Centre for  Autistic Children “Megalohari”, Elepap Chania, the Volunteer Association “Friends of Kissamos Foundation of Kissamos”, Asperger Centre of Chania, Orizontas Association,  or others.

-) The day will end with a “Pilaf Party”.

The whole event is organized by ORIZONTAS’s Athletic Club, with the aim of informing the world, raising awareness for their club’s programs, promoting volunteering, promoting the project  and gathering money to support the families in need.

ORIZONTAS is a non-profit association, founded 15 years ago in Chania, and supports mainly children with cancer, financially, morally and psychologically.
