Celebration of the Beaujolais Nouveau – Γιορτάζουμε την Άφιξη του Beaujolais Nouveau – Chania 15th November

The Hellenic-French Association of Chania invites you to celebrate the arrival of  the NOUVEAU BEAUJOLAIS !
The first wine of the year will be served in Chania on the evening of
Thursday, 15th November  at 21.00, at the Sailing Club of Chania, Defkalionos 17.

The Beaujolais Nouveau owes its easy drinkability to a winemaking process called carbonic maceration, also known as whole-berry fermentation. This technique preserves the fresh, fruity quality of the grapes without extracting bitter tannins from the skins of the grapes.

In France Beaujolais Nouveau Day is marked  on the third Thursday in November with fireworks, music and festivals. Under French law, the wine is released at 12:01 a.m., just weeks after the wine’s grapes have been harvested. Parties are held throughout the country and further afield to celebrate the first wine of the season.

I'm Austrian living in Tavronitis, love nature, music, good books, sunsets, the sea, travelling, socializing and more. I came to Crete as a student in the early 70s, exploring the west and southwest of the island with friends by motorbike. When you are young everything is important and, there are lots of things to do...I did. Job, family, children, travelling the world. But I never lost my love for Crete for a minute. And nine years ago I ended up in this convenient corner of Crete, not only for holidays, but to stay and haven't regretted it for a minute.
